I completely disagree, while still respecting your opinion. I don’t know why I got a completely different point of view on this than my most of the people here...and actually quite liked Ryoga ( I love when playboys fall soo deep in love before the other person). He was a fuckboy but at least he is honest about it, they entered the relationship for fun (and from what I understand on Ryoga request) and we see already from the beginning that he was the one wanting something more...he asked Io about the various boundaries and the uke basically said “you can do and sleep who whoever you want) and we aready begin to see Ryoga being uncomfortable with idea even before the other man came to be...I mean he still is a fuckboy, but honestly he was the more “honest” one here ahahahahah

Good point but it was really shitty of him trying to make Io jealous by showing off his hickeys or other signs of being with sex friends. That was his intent.
He clearly thought that he wanted to provoke Io showing feelings towards him while he has fun with others... So that makes him a very selfish prick but I do praise him for becoming a more decent person by deleting all his sex contacts and being more devoted monogamous lover.
Still would have liked to see that playboy/fuckboy more suffer before his self-realization.

Yeah you are right it was not a nice move to pull, but still pretty understandable...he was trying to get a reaction out of the guy, who never seemed to care, while Ryoga for sure wanted to more, even because they were apparently going out. Again yeah not a nice move, but Io did the same thing no? He tried to make the seme jealous and unhappy when hiding that the other man was his brother, knowing full well that the seme wanted something more from the relationship (at that point he even confessed), even worse he said “it’s not your business”...well aren’t you going out? I would understand if they were fuckbuddies...but that wasn’t the case.
Not hating on the uke at all, but in my opinion they deserved each other, they both did wrong but still solved it at the end. In Yaoi nowadays the story is usually asshole and playboy seme who does all the mistakes and put the uke in continues suffering (usually rape is involved), never apologises (the uke usually does for f everything) and still manage to be forgiven every time like its nothing, because the uke is head over heels for him....

You right. That uk can be quite strong and sneaky. And it is another plus that there is no rape or other usual yaoi trope. The power dynamic seems to be quite equal between them.
I feel like that Io would be more even with Ryoga, if he has slept with another guy. It would have make them both square.
I mean we can only guess how many times Ryoga went to his fuck buddies while he tries to crack Io before he admitted to himself that he really loves him.

I also think Io needed to do this little payback because he must have been pissed that Ryoga keeps asking for his affection and love but still fucks with others. He is doing it on purpose...
What a bullshit behaviour and if you think about it, he wasn't that honest at all.
Call me biased but I am more on Io's side.
Nevertheless it is nice too see him warming up to Ryoga after he decided to become a better person.

I don’t think Io not giving Ryoya giving the satisfaction of being jealous makes him any less a good partner. Why should zip have to subject himself to negative or any emotion he doesn’t feel or want to feel for the sake of his then sexual partner. Ryoya’s behavior was despicable because it showed more who he is a person than it did Io for not outwardly being hurt by Ryoya’s actions. They may not have verbally spoken on their exclusivity. But Ryoya was the one who snowballed the relationship, to the point of asking to move in more so because he had been likely been kicked out of his last partner’s home for clearly either cheating on her by being at the match making dinner/meeting Io. We get this from the conversation at the diner he was looking for an out from the relationship becoming more serious.

Ryoya falling in love with Io is fine, but then Ryoya was upset Io didn’t behave like I’m sure previous partners did when Ryoya routinely cheated or emotionally hurt them again this is implied by Ryoya himself showing he’s always held the upper hand in his relationships.

I’m going to sit and here and equate them to one another in their relationship simply because Io doesn’t make demands from his partners attention when it’s clear his love language just happens to be more subtle than his partners. This is was just simply Ryoya didn’t respect Io not, Io said says go ahead sleep with other people. There’s something deeply wrong with that.

The fact Io lightly gave Ryoya a taste of feeling hurt by actions Ryoya never actually apologizes for, but rather Ryoya just says he will no longer do because his emotionally immature actions didn’t make him feel superior is besides the point. He purposely did it hurt Io as emotional warfare.

It’s nice he stuck around to actually pay attention and get to know Io’s displays of affection something I’m sure Io’s previous partners never did, but Ryoya doesn’t get some medal for being decent now when he should have given this level of respect the entire time. It’s really such a low bar but again the trope of playboys cured by love in romance and dramatic genres it’s no surprise he’s forgiven so easily.
