It reminds me of Alan Parker's film, Angel Heart, when the devil played by Robert de Niro (who's there to make an amnesic remember that he had sold his soul to him and later tried to get out of the deal) says, "how terrible is wisdom when it brings no profit to the wise". In fact, too often "ignorance is bliss".
Ignorance is bliss. If I keep digging, I might not like what I see. But I guess I understand the temptation since it's a low-risk situation with close to zero chance of criminal liability since you are already dead and living a second chance in another dead person's body who was loved and had lived a complete life.
