An Absolute Unit June 10, 2020 12:28 am

what set the daughter off was seeing the hair pin in the store - subtly implying w/o words that the hairpin wasn't an heirloom or the mother's treasure. the daughter realized that her relationship with her mother was so hollow, and so fake. she couldn't handle that "imperfection", so her mind went blank and she regained her sense of self after murdering her mother.

now, she lays in the bushes covered in her mother's blood, with a shadow over her face. fushi looks on at her with pity, if not outright disdain. she then has the gall, the arrogance, to ask him to be her friend.

a lack of friends or people close to her was not the problem. she has people she can confide in, who accept her. however, she believes, since these people are "imperfect", she cannot truly rely on them. she chooses to place these people next to her to have the outward appearance of a perfect girl with friends. like accessories.

she believes that since fushi is immortal and worshiped like a god, he must be perfect. thus, she asks him for friendship.

but what she's really asking for is a convenient doll.
