i forgot to even mention the rape, but he was raped very early into the relationship and had his hands bound...also similar to his earlier imprisonment....then he is blackmailed by his rapist and is unable to turn to even his father (who has been shown the be completely unreliable anyway). his rapist also isolated him from any friends, physically beat them. And the mc overhears empolyees talking about how useless he is and basically praising his rapist for dealing with him. Literally so much about this relationship is fucked, that I forgot to mention the rape and blackmail in my original comment. What a nightmare
traumatic exp as a child, i doubt he could proper counseling, a dad who doesnt know how to parent, now his son is completely reliant on him financially...mc now how control issues and his only form of control is thru his father's money, so shit dad hires some dude to 'reform' his son instead of doin ANyhting himself,said dude takes away all control in his life, sexually harasses him, basically teaches him to rely only on him, mc ends up craving approval and attention, repeat of traumatic episode...mc now relies on a praise and attention-based award system. bc of traumatic episode, mc is convinced he is worthless and the only reason anyone would care about him is bc his dad? he then uses money to become 'worthwhile' to ppl. the secretary eventually tells mc, that mc is the most important person to him, again makin mc rely completely on the sec for guidance and worthiness. If the sec were to leave, mc would be fucked and so mc would never leave the sec, as he is only important to him. add in the fact that the sec looks similar to the criminal who held mc captive....this is like abuse and manipulation not empowerment.
Ive read other yaoi and I know this sort of thing isnt unusual...i just cant NOT SEE this stuff anymore.
