Just a guess but after reading some spoiler, it's the opposite? Her brother is a complex case because he feels inferior towards Leshia. I don't know if he somehow used to love Leshia.
Maybe he didn’t know how to express himself which frustrated him leading to his violent behavior towards her?
I really do believe that Cedric has his eyes set on Tia in both past and present life. If Cedric do really love Leshia, he'll do everything by all means for Leshia not to marry Tia's brother. And I think Leshia is really in love with Tia's brother, same goes with the brother. It is just that his jealousy consumed him so much. I wish for them too to be happy in this second life. I don't want anymore death. They all deserved to be happy. ╥﹏╥
