When I read it I too thought he wears the original saint candidate killer and the reason is because he hated his sister who was a saint candidate so he killed girls that remind him or her... but in the new timeline her loves her and she didn’t bully him so there was no murder.
I really hope he is the ML totally prefer him over the prince... lol this could be the main problem of their love he some how remembered the past and figures out he was the killer that targeted his sister (who he loves now) and feels guilty because he has been trying to protect her from others but it should be him she should be protected form ╥﹏╥ lol jk but I will cry if that’s the case.....

Gilberto is the killer.
That would explain why his personality was so cold and distant at first, why he only really appeared in his route, and why there was no real killing this time- because Cecil changed him, so he's no longer the same as before.
And the reason why the saint candidate hasn't appeared is because, just like Cecil and Leanne, she too has reincarnated, so she took some precaution so they wouldn't be found.
