Also if this was a real life situation majority of you guys would not act how you comment. You would act either like her avoiding him or trying to help the person being dragged because of you know 21st century mindset and all which could lead to the prisoner using you as a hostage to get the dukes attention. And at that point he definitely would of let you just die, like no help. Most people from our century are much more kinder to people in pain where as back then ehhh it was well you deserved it kind of mentality. So I can see why she wouldn't even attempt to try and change him. It would be fucking hard and draining to change someone's mindset from medieval times.

Well, she does not try to understand his mindset at all. The first thing we would do if we were her is to understand the world we are in. But not her. She jumped on Ain, forgetting everything. And everyone who sees the bad guy reaching out to you would at least try to take advange of that in order to survive. Like figuring things out.

Your average person wether from past or now doesn't try to understand why their mindset works like that of the dukes. You got a very small group of people in society that do. Your average human when faced with deeds like the one the Duke did would be straight traumatizing and would probably break them. For her children are innocent beings that can change if given the right love and environment to grow in. Ain yes he's cute but to her he's the one thing in that entire place she can latch onto to feel safe. And if she didn't have ain there then she would probably be a wreck or ignore the Duke completely and the Duke still wouldn't care if she was around. It's because of ain that the Duke even looked in her direction. Yes she should be more understanding but I think where the author is going with to the average person given this situation would act like her. Not everyone can be understanding not everyone cares what hardships you go through they just see the bad deeds and yes she wants to change ains path only because right now he's a child that can be fixed.

Also when I say bad deeds our brain has a defensive mechanism that when faced with scary situations 1 we need to avoid it at all cost 2 our brain doesn't think clearly because we're on natural instincts so we don't see all the information given 3 avoid dying. Dukes case he should of never had a bloody beat up human so out in the open. Usually you kind want to keep that at least kind of hidden. He knew he had a woman living with them but didn't think twice if he accidentally ran into her with it being dragged around like that. To me it's kinda his fault for how she acts now.
I don't know guys like I see everyone's point of view when it comes to her and the Duke. But I still feel that after the bloody body being dragged behind him and not only that but his aura or the way he holds himself kind of also explains why she doesn't want to get closer. Like his face never changes and just looks like you could say one wrong thing and your dead. Plus even if she tried to get along with him and included him before the attempts he could still tell she's scared shitless of him. Tbh he's got alot of learning to do when it comes to socializing. I mean I get he didn't have a great childhood but it's harder to change an adults mind then a child's hence the saying the older you get the more stuck in your ways you get. Yes I will give to him he's trying to "change" like wanting to understand love but it's gonna be hella hard cause at some points he's going to revert back because it's something he knows more then being friendly or loving.
