Also there is nothing wrong with liking Oscar Wilde still ヾ(☆▽☆), you can always take a "Death of the Author" approach, in which you appreciate the work as it's own thing while separating the author as a bad, bad person. Personally, I think this site just has a problem with defending rape a ~little~ too much. Although I'm not somebody who is triggered by sexual assault, I understand and welcome the need for others to condemn it. I have enjoyed a lot of stories that have sexual assault (like this one is a personal fav for me--love me a man in uniform ლ(´ڡ`ლ)). I'm just here for hot manga dudes doing hot manga dude thangs ╮(￣▽￣)╭, even so, whenever I see someone calling out sexual assault I think "Yeah sis, call it like you see it!! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧" and move on.
However, I've noticed that people on this site tend to get angry at people who condemn it because they find them "annoying". People take it as a personal attack that somebody does not like rape. Which is strange because I rarely see people get angry at the people who say they don't like incest or shota (just from what I've noticed at least). Like if somebody said, "wow, pedophilia is so sexy....not" about a shota manga instead, I don't think so many ppl would have down voted. There is an uncomfortable defending of sexual assault on this site. Personally I do think media influences us, but that is a whole other convo lol. Anyways that is my two cents, totally fine if you disagree, no hate or anything man!

EXACLY. I completely agree with you! earlier I made a comment that I love the seme’s eyes and that’s all, I will never ever excuse rape/assault. And it’s true, in yaoi is almost impossible to find stories without some kind of assault and the way that some people ’excuse’ that behavior is when the perpetrator has a bad time for his actions (but not prison lol they almost don’t exist in yaoi), makes you sympathize(? with him and we are supposed to believe he changed and he would never do it again... and that may be true in his case because it’s fiction... that doesn’t happen in real life and it does not compensate the damage he already did. But ye I’m also here for ma daily dosis of hot man (also has a lot of time because of quarantine) And last, I didn’t knew about the Death of the author, gosh thank you again! I don’t engage too much because I don’t like the drama in real life haha but I feel relieved because of the politeness and I even learned something from this. Thanks.
