
Are you sure cause they were really adamant on her marring the other king. Who as they said already had many wives and children and was twice her age. She apposed yet they didn't care so I can see them being opposed to the commoner. The dad even wanted to beat her for "sleeping " with her fiance so I dought it was just "to test his love". Who would beat a guy half to death and force their own daughter to see if that was the case. We also can't forget that they locked her up when she wanted to run away. It's the perfect description of a rich family trying not to lose face cause the daughter likes a commoner.
I don't think they would've hurt Hector like the story makes it sound...I think something must've happened and maybe.. the family wanted to test his love for their daughter and he didn't choose the girl...something...there's something the family is hiding from the girl..and us.
