im not sure if i fully understood but heres what i got:
Sowon’s dad killed all the priests and everyone that knew his wife’s (Sowon’s mom) secret and lineage. He did that because he was afraid of losing her since she and her lineage are destined to die early (which is why sowon is sick currently). Sowons mom regrets meeting King Il’s brother because it caused too many innocent people (priest, the young kids etc) to die. it even drove her mom to suicide because of the guilt. King Il who respects the priest greatly, despises his brother for having killed them and even went as far as to protect and hide the surviving girl. The one with the burned mark. That same girl ends up marrying King Il and is Yona’s mom. So, Sowon’s dad is the cause of Yona’s moms suffering. King Il doesnt like his bro because of the massacre of the priests, Sowon’s mom feels immense guilt. Thats pretty much the gist of it. Although i havent read the past chapters in a while so my memories kinda blurry
