It's just that It's Chinese... So even if It's Shounen Ai it will be portrayed like bromance. Also the skinship is already mild in Shounen Ai as it is... Yaoi has the 19+ moments lol I think their relationship will be implied but really subtly ╮(￣▽￣)╭

I find Shounen Ai all over the place.. Some can get pretty explicit, just not showing genitals all the way to just bromance as you mention. Altho, also like you say, the difference to is prob when it's Chinese.

Sometimes the intentions are there, but with chinese censorship and issues.

The author maybe laying low. I've been hearing a lot of bl issues in china. They have no rights. They get plagiarized and some that include smex scenes have been jailed.

10 miles of peach blossom was plagiarized from debt blossom. I hear the author cant even do anything about it because it would reveal shes a bl writer.

For a time there was a rumor the famous author from official heavenly blessing, scum villian system, and founder of dablisum. She kinda disappeared. Ppl thought she was arrested. Turned out she was fine.

But yeah china is not a very nice place for bl authors.

There are still a lot of bl authors. I know and new bl webtoons, but that doesnt mean there arent any issues.

Ive read shounen ai that was more bromance. Like u said theres a huge range.

Well actually it's pretty difficult to have some "real" info about bl authors...About Mxtx, there were some rumors but were fake as she was fine. Now she's working on her next novels, sold her rights for drama and anime adaptations. So, so far everything work well for her, or even for other famous authors like Priest.

There are a lot of rumors (true or fake, who knows?) China isn't really transparent about those issues. For sure, BL authors' lives aren't easy cause of censorship and China keeping an eye on them.

Maybe the futur will be a little bit brigther as some famous BL novels will be adapted next year. Even if it's just censored romance, t's better than nothing and in some years we could hope to see real bl stuff :)

Yeah...like i said those were rumors, but there was an article of an author who got 10yrs jail time for writing smut.

I hear there are 5 or so new bl to live action thats coming out soon. I only recognized one. White shizun cat and deciple dog? Lol i cant remember the name.

Its a pretty dark one. I dropped it and only read the spoilers.

But none of the bl will be bl. I think bromance at most like untamed and that other bl movie.

Yeah I've heard of that author but the issue was he/she was selling her/his work (smut) to underaged persons (but I'm not sure of that fact, just read it several times on twit).

At most It will be censored bromance. BL right now seems impossible unfortunetly (for my eyes, heart & soul xD). I'd have loved seeing just one kiss between lwj & wwx!

Haha chinese novels titles aren't easy sometimes : The Husky and His White Cat Shizun. I haven't read it yet, so it's dark? With that title, I could only imagine a fluffy story lol...

Though get ready if you are interested in chinese bromance, more than 70 BL rights have been bought (≧∀≦). All Priest novels (Sha po lang, Faraway wanderers, ...), The Untamed's author novels (Heaven official blessings, Scum), Thousand autumns, 19 days, Seizing dreams, Breaking through the clouds, SAYE, earth is online and more :)
