Narcissism is a form of twisted love tho, like she probably 'loves' her cuz she's technically a part of her. Her mother must think that anything she gave birth to must love her wholeheartedly or something like that and that she should do anything for her
About the note at the end. I don't think the mother loves MC(even in a twisted way) at all. More like she's narcisstic.
