I loved this story too and him losing wait has nothing do with the story,you know. It's like how all of feel like we need to change and it's even mentioned that Arai would have loved our cinnamon roll even if he was fat. And he was fat because he ate a lot so becoming more healthy is not that bad.
I get where you're coming from because there are mangas in which seme finds uke ugly when he is fat or when seme falls in love with uke but says stuff like, you'd be better thin. That's bad. This was his own decision to be proud of.
This is a little bit unrealistic, but i was really into the story, so I loved it.
It's so cute and delicate. I really needed to read something like this.
