I think it's the second one, from the way she touched her back in chapters, she wanna know the tae and who is touching Giselle so affectionately.. And tbh part of me believes Isaac knew about Giselle long time ago and fell for her and hoped she'll find him one day that's why he stayed imprisoned.. He just doesn't give me that innocent and naive vibes; he's someone knows exactly what he's doing, and that so far away from character development!
