there is NO reason its HER fault that HE'S someone who'd resort to this! that's like saying to the girl who ignored the psycho - "oh well you shoulda just been super nice then he wouldn't have hurt you" or telling the girl who was nice to him "oh well you shouldn't have been so nice, what were you trying to encourage him?!" IT IS NOT A VICTIMS FAULT THAT A CRIMINAL COMITS A CRIME!
