The Duke already likes Lindsayan (still not sure if he knows its romantic at this point tho) but, if you think abt it, everything Lindsayan does for him is still for the mission. She keeps coming back to him because its her mission. She doesn't accept bribes because she has mission. She keeps him safe because its her mission. Like true she's nice to him and she has a high sense of responsibility as a servant, but a lot of the major events between them are because Lindsayan is on a mission. She doesnt rely on him nor is she scared because she knows she can handle things. She tolerates beig used as bait because she needs information from him.

The loyalty the Duke so love from her is all because of her loyalty to the Crown Prince. Tho she is warming up to the Duke sometimes (before she decided to never trust his kindness again), a lot of what she does isnt out of her kindness but only because she has to.

At this point, im kind of curious what would happen when her secret is revealed. Because the Duke may love Lindsayan, but its pretty clear at this point that to Lindsay, Lindsayan is just a mask and nothing more. To Lindsay, the Duke is just a mission. She neither hates nor likes him. Her busy bodiness and indifference to his status is just her being her. Until now to Lindsay, he is only a mission and she treats him like it.
