Your point is logical, and I would feel really insecure seeing how good-looking and smart they are. And why would I want to feel a certain way when I can be accepted with a more realistic person. But the thing is, Dan-I is not a side character. She's the main character of this whole novel, so she's forced to be with the friends even if she felt insecure cuz that's how the story goes. How she gonna overcome her insecurities and to be able to live confidently. So it's expected that all these kinda drama will come
Idk about anyone else but Ruda is honestly my to go to guy now. All of Dan-I’s other friends bother me. They expect her to trust them when they’re fake and not even real people to begin with. She’s from a completely different world and if I was surrounded by people who stand out and I’m just some side character maaaaan I would not want to be around them either. Ruda seems to understand how Dan-I feels more than her “friends” do. Like he might know her as long as the others do but he can at least see more of her pain than anyone else has.
