I'm guessing he did it to try to end his feelings for Wataru. He wanted that summer vacation for him to stay as a beautiful memory. Which is why Wataru got mad, he thought it was selfish of Saeiki to move on without telling him or considering his feelings.

also did anyone really pick up on what Saeiki's reasoning was to move in the first place ?? like all I really understood from his childhood was that his mother forced him to dress like a girl and that's how he met Wataru but idk how those things correlate. can someone please explain :(
