This has no spoilers depending where you left on. We may know it is an unnecessary lie but Hangyum does not know that. There has been hints in why he is lying. It is reveal in chapter 39. I understand his reason and why.
I kind of stop reading this because I didn't understand the reason for the unnecessary lie about revealing who he was to the MC. So has that part been answered why he did it?
