They have always been around, not just lately. I don't think the quality is dropping, it's just way too repetitive, to the point of making me gag

I think it's only becoming repitive with the short mangas. The longer ones actually have a plot and are interesting

DUDE EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING; all these Yaois from renta uploaded to mangago. like even the free ones here have a better storyline than the ones that get sold, like thank you to the uploaded for uploading but I’m just saying these plots are shit now

I feel like a lot of these are coming from online mangas. And most are being brought from renta. I guess it’s easier now for anyone to write a manga

I miss the mangas that made me feel giddy and the ones that literally made me reread the whole manga until a new chapter came out.

100000% agree. 90% of current stories being published these days are about toxic non-consensual relationships that we should NOT find healthy, admirable, or romantic. I'd say here's been an intense increase of these stories in the past maybe two years. I used to read about 50% of the updated stories now I read around 20% and am disappointed in most. I'm no longer excited for new stories and have low expectations

It's crazy I used to have like 20 ongoing stories at all times that I was so excited for these few years have been 3-4 max. Right now all I have is On or Off and The Best Smell of active projects

I also feel like some shounen Ai have gone downhill too. I remember mostly coming to read shounen Ai on mangago but now it’s shifted more torwards yaoi because of newcomers. I miss the unique plots and not just the go to blackmail and rape tropes. 2016-2018 bl was prime content. I remember always anticipating updates but now it’s just like eh I’ll read it.

Oh yeah the Shounen ai is in an even WORSE state it feels like the majority is writing for 12 year olds to read

I feel like once you've covered most off the plots and storylines, the mangas become cliche. Cause you already know what's gonna happen

And I have a feeling that if we went from low/average to best mangas, we might've enjoyed them more
