exactly, lol. it's kind of similar to how hetero medias show a cute but secretly evil girl trying to 'dethrone' the female love interest from the hot male. i have realized that this kind of trope, at its very core, stems from internalized misogyny. the thought that women can only be romantic rivals to each other is exactly the same as "bottoms" competing (and full on raping) other bottoms to get to their daddy tops. it's cliche, boring and annoying.

most of the yaoi manga/hwa/huas i have seen are very gross, especially if they are a bit older. rape, fetishization of lgbtq people, misogyny, slut shaming are too prevalent in them. i have heard very good reviews about sign though. speaking of actually good mangas, have you read Star X Fanboy? it's really wholesome and the characters are not annoying for the most part.
and speaking of garbage mangas, have you read 'if you hate me so'? i really, really hate that manhwa and i especially hate the author. lots of rape, manipulation, slut shaming and the whole shebang. yet they treat it as nothing and just move past the literal PTSD the uke gets after being raped. pretty disgusting stuff. sorry for going on a tangent, i'm a bit passionate about stuff like this.

haha, it's fine, im the same. i really wish there were more mangas/manhwa that wouldn't slut shaming, using r*pe and manipulation a storyline, normalising abuse, r*pe, manipulation, fetishism, and making women the 'villains'. there are also so many people who are so proud of the term fudanshi/fuhjoshi when it's just a term for people who fetishsize mlm, which is absolutely disgusting. and i haven't heard of star x fanboy, but i'll be sure to check it out.

you should! it's super cute and is actually shounen ai since there's no sex scene. it's basically a 'y/n wish fulfillment' manhwa but it's very adorable and makes up for the overused plot by being so.
yeah, i used to call myself that before realizing it's cringeworthy and the meaning is also strange. just say you enjoy content written about lgbtq+ people and it sounds less strange than calling yourself a fudanshi or fujoshi. nowadays rhese two terms have negative connotations anyway.
Ahh I really do hate the cliche of some random uke just fucking up everything and trying to rape/sexually harass the other uke. It's really gross, and it's became so common..
