I get where you're coming from but I guess it must feel suspicious for someone to offer the equivalent of 20 years of salary point blank, no? Plus, he already has 15K in savings so he should be fine. If she loved him, she could retire without being bought because she repaid her debt already, she's already freed herself.
Am I the only one who’s kinda disappointed in the buff dude’s refusal to accept Jinshi’s money? Is he really willing to continue to see the person he loves sleep with other men because of his sense of pride? Is he willing to accept the chance that she might be bought by some other guy while he’s still saving up?
Idk, maybe I just have different moral principles, but I don’t see the problem in using Jinshi’s money at all. I don’t get why he believes that he has to save up his own money to be a “man,” when he could accept the money and lead to more happiness for the both of them. And like Jinshi said that the money was like an investment in who he thought was a talented individual.
