I agree! Although she's not white she's Asian so still a woc it's so disrespectful for her to be reincarnated as light skinned in order for her to be deemed pretty.
Please remember these are all Asian mangas we're reading thus technically even though they look white most of our characters are actually asian, that's just the state of things, secondly, unlike much of the rest of the world Korea/Japan/China etc do not have a very multicultural community thus are not generally going to cater to such, it's not a racism thing it's just reality, when almost 99% of your population is generally one race you are going to most likely cater to that.
Didn’t really claim racism (though internal racism is always a thing and it’s 100% possible the author thought a white lady was more pretty than a woman with dark skin). More disappointing.

It's called colorism and it's super prevalent in Asian culture. Also racism does exist in places like Korea against Chinese, Indian, and other Asian nationalities lol. Korean comedy shows still use blackface and cultural appropriation as funny gags regularly. Just because YOU don't personally see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
