Honestly I dont think she wants to nurture him like a mother, or a mentor, or even any type of special relationship....I think she just wants to have a older friend relationship....people tend to think that the only sensible friendship can be established at the same age...(and they are not totally wrong bc people with the same age have a similar mindset and understanding) but you can also have friends that are really older than you.....
I think they are just really close friends with a age gap.....but they are still trying to establish it.

I hope she comes to fully understand everything....I really want her to end up with that guy she worked with(forgot his name)... but you could tell he really liked her but she herself didnt understand love...... They would be cute together

I’m really trying hard not to read your comments but I like the story it is a little weird from an outside view however looking into everything it seems understandable how she wants to nurture him like a mother would if I’m wrong I’m only on ch.19 right now so don’t blame me
