I think the uke didn’t want to have to make the seme hit him anymore since the seme was trying to change as a person. Like when the seme hit the uke for lying instead of being upset he got hit he was upset that he made the seme hit him after he said himself he didn’t want to anymore.
What about the uke's masochistic tendencies? I mean there are perfectly healthy ways to fulfill those desires... and generally they don't go away just cause someone gets in a loving relationship...
