Well.. Maybe he wanted to get ride of him to, because they all though the other guy was dead, so if he was in jail then they didn't have to worry over him, because if I remember correctly they were accomplices in the kidnapping and he was pretty angry too because he got a cut on his face and well.. People with scares have it difficult because the other people think they are for no good
