Actually, my SO fractured his ribs a couple years ago and there's not much that doctors can do for it. They'll do an x-ray, look it over and nod and say "yup yup", and then send you home with pain killers. It hurts like crazy standing or sitting, but once you're up or down, you're "okay" more or less. He drove all the way from New Orleans to Atlanta, 8 hours in the car, two days after he fractured them LOL.

Still, the author should just put him in a coma for 6 months and then he can wake up and run away and the rib thing will be mostly healed. Running around with these fresh injuries... fractured ribs, fractured left shoulder, dislocated wrist.... get this boy a morphine drip, stat!
