The scanlation group is translating it themselves despite there being an official licensed version. They aren't posting the licensed version so they are allowed to put watermarks on top of their version.
Why do they get dropped? Obvious reasons. Because scanlators are not translating comics for profit, but so that people who are interested (in purchasing) but cannot because of language barrier (meaning even if they bought it they can't read it) can understand. So that when reading the JP version you paid for if there's something you didn't understand and online machine translators and dictionaries didn't help, you can check their translated version to get a better understanding of what the words meant. When an official english version is released, there's no reason for them to continue because if you don't understand the japanese version, you don't have to buy it. You can buy an english version that you can understand instead.
Why are the licensed korean webtoons uploaded here? In the case of the JP manga, most of the scanlation groups are not the ones to upload them here (if they did, then they wouldn't have their own websites, blogs etc.). In fact, a lot of them ask people NOT to upload them on sites like this. It's the same with the webtoons. Lezhin, Tapas etc. are not the ones who upload them on this site, rather it's some fan who purchased it and decided to share the chapters onto this website. Some fans upload from the scanlation groups, and other fans upload from the webtoon platforms. Unless the authors or platforms are aware that the webtoons are being uploaded here illegally, they'll continue to make more (and give the anonymous fans more material to share). In case you didn't know, in the past few months more korean webtoon authors (such as the author of Pian Pian) have been asking for their work to be taken off of this site and have warned that if it's not taken down they will stop writing the story completely. Most scanlation teams are ALREADY AWARE sites like this exist so they can control the material easier because they know where to look to see if their efforts are being abused.

Sharing licensed webtoons still is illegal, you know... The difference is that people who share licensed webtoons don't really give a shit that it's illegal, but scanlators (most) care about that and would want people to support the author. they uploaded the whole ass chapter with explanations on the watermarks a long time ago, go read it. and if you cant comprehend their reasons, im sorry for you.
"i just find it kinda insulting that it got uploaded like this..." -> ??????????????
i wonder why when jp mangas get licensed in english they're posted with big watermarks or they just get dropped, but then korean webtoons that are already licensed in english by lezhin (or others) get posted here...
anyway if someone has the hidamari raws u can send them to me and i'll translate this chapter (with my limited japanese, google translate and the help of friends) because i just find it kinda insulting that it got uploaded like this... i understand the scanlation group not wanting to get in trouble though
