To my knowledge they WERE real photos. The mangaka (manwhaka?) used real photos as the background in almost Ll the scenes. Then edited them in photoshop.

Whoa! What an awesome art, especially the background & photos that looked like real photographs. ✿✿
Interesting unique plot, but the motivation of setting him up was a bit too weak. Lacking details of how the real culprit's been caught, made the ending a bit off.
Anyway I do enjoy reading this, totally recommend.
