Raw elephant ear stems cause extreme itchiness

You have to cook them properly to remove the sap that causes irritation. This usage of dried stems for sexual purposes is very new to me lol. How were they able to reduce the itchiness and minimise the risks? I am curious about the recipe/method now. (⊙…⊙ )

They did say it itched, and maybe since they were dehydrated the sap was carved out??

That's could be the case. I did notice that they felt the itch. Google search suggests that drying, cooking, and steeping the stems in water neutralises the sap. So by the looks of it, the potency of the sap was reduced to give off a tingling sensation.
