Reagan’s a mess through majority of the novel but the turning point was when he got involved in a scandal with his 2nd wife, and Inga’s miscarriage. I don’t remember whether these two events are connected or not, but it happened during the same time frame. Inga’s family finds out about this and wants her to go back and divorce Reagan, but the both of them don’t want to. Reagan then proceeds to go into rehab and eventually gets better, and Inga accompanies his through the entire process.
See, but do I want the angst and drama of that recovery process for such unlovable characters

please spoil me a bit so i can see if i want to continue. The fl is a conniving manipulative bitch and the ml is high off drugs and a complete manhore. ml seems to be led around the nose by the fl while the fl is leading the ml on while taking responsibility as role of his wife. honestly a toxic couple. is there even a chance of a happy ending between these two shitshows?
