I remember seeing a spoiler a while back, apparently in the novel, Art feels like it is wrong for the to be together cause he sees himself as so much older, but he still appreciates and cherishes their friendship. Tess don’t like this, so she like threatens to cut off their relationship or something like that if he doesn’t be with her, SOOOOOOO he gives in, in the end.
I really hope they change it up in the manga, but I don’t think they will ╥﹏╥. I honestly would prefer him and the girl he helped awaken or the girl he’s traveling with, OR a completely dif person that he meets when he is older!!!
You might want to at least give it a chance.... it is handled very well, with surprising complexity....
Basically, they become close as friends, and it becomes obvious that she and all those around them expect them to become a couple. But he struggles with it, because inside he is still a middle aged man, and he just can't see her that way, even though she is very important to him. He ends up realizing that if he cares about her it's unfair to her if he can't let go of that that feeling and try to truly see her as an equal. So there's never really a moment where he's a typical teenager head over heels for her, rather since she is so important to him he resolves to accept her on her own terms. And even after that they spend most of their time in apart and seldom get to meet.

I am reading the light novel, I am at chapter 50 and I need someone who reads it, and is up to the last chapter, to tell me if
