Nah, he knew about the rumors and he knew it looked wrong for him to be so close to the blind girl and how she had misgivings but still he remained close to her. If she keeps hearing these rumors, sees them so close and is disliked by the workers because they think she's getting in their way what is she supposed to believe?!
