I stated in my previous reply that liking that kind of stuff doesn’t automatically make you a pedophile, hence the “gray area”. We cannot feign ignorance though and act like the lolicon/shotacon genre does not cater to people with that kind of paraphilia though, which is why certain stories NEED to be called out whether it be fictional or otherwise. STephen King is not a murderer nor Harada a pedophile because both of these authors do not romanticise their twisted storyline’s and show the horrors. While there is a difference between fiction and reality, it is proven that consuming a lot of a certain fictional media can desensitise you to it. We must be careful with what we read, and be cautious when it comes to things that can put minors in danger :3
Good to know. But I wouldn't have known because everytime I critique a story, that's what's thrown so. I guess people should be using that term more wisely? Or learn how to differentiate critique from blatant shitting.

Sorry, I don’t really like arguing, especially about legal matters. At the end of the day neither of us are a lawyer (unless you are). We both have our understadings and I would rather not end the conversation on the wrong note, with either of us pissing each other off. I’ve seen topics like this lead to a lot of drama or toxicity that I don’t want to accidentally start or get into. I hope that makes sense?
I will always believe that a person is free to read something even if they don’t like it. Though it’s mostly a problem when people just don’t like one little aspect of something. When they express the fact that they didn’t like that certain point people often tell the “Don’t like, don’t read” which I don’t believe is fair in anyway. Yeah, it’s tough seeing something you like get a little hate but it’s something you’ve gotta live with. (And I use this argument a lot against people who comment “don’t like don’t read” if you didn’t like the comment, just don’t read it.) I understand that doesn’t work for all comments.
I don’t know if it’s the same for anyone else, but me personally, I have a habit of reading/watching things even though I despise them lol. It’s why I read so many manga that I hate.
