personally, I think this is pretty realistic. People somehow have a harder time letting go. Hence many don't leave toxic relationships until they are black and blue. The thing that is not realistic is the seme's sudden epiphany. No one does that over night.

There are a lot of negative trends in the yaoi genre. So it really is a blessing when you find a nice one without all those stuff. And with problems that are actually discussed and worked through without miscommunication that leads to misunderstandings.
For real!! I love the yaois for the cute moments in relationship, i love it when they are slowly falling in love, i love it when theres some kind of drama such as : we need to convince the parents.
