Turns out she's 'aware' of the story. To put it simply, every time someone reads it, she goes through the story all over again.

I think its pretty obvious even without a spoiler that Yuri is stuck in a timeloop or controlled by a system I believe and force to play out scenarios against her own will. I think that she sees Melissa as a unknown variable in her life or her hack out of this neverending timeloop or unknown system controlling her freedom I think ╮(￣▽￣)╭
