Literally couldn't have said it better
Let's not forget that deep down he had accepted myungook's sexual orientation and didn't judge him for it. Only when he was at his most vulnerable did he snap and say the most hurtful thing he could probably think of to make himself cope with losing the only thing he had going for him (his grades)
Absolutely agree that Hyuns words were very hurtful and ignorant but it’d be nice if we could all see where he was coming from instead of just hating on him. People are a product of their surroundings and Hyun grew up without anyone giving him a sense of security. He feels like (and this is mostly true) that he doesn’t have anyone on his side, this was the only thing he had and it was taken away from him. You can tell that Hyun has a major inferiority complex but he’s not a bad person, he’s just someone who’s been neglected all his life and who’s jealous of Myungkook who seemingly has a perfect life. Before we type away at how the seme doesn’t deserve him or the uke sucks, it’d be nice if we could just take these things into consideration!
Nobody’s perfect and people do or say things they don’t mean when they feel hurt and backed into the corner, the author is doing a great job of portraying that.
