She’s a business woman because the sugar is at high request she’s making money out of it
she used the money she won from the casino and bought LOTS of sugar when it was super low in demand and really cheap. Now she pretty much has monopoly of it so she was able to resell for 20x? (if I remember correctly) the price now that the sugar is in high demand and the other nobles have nowhere else to buy it.
Yup couldn't have said it better if she is successful in running this monopoly, she basically has the power to dominate the economy.
