From the description and the first character intros I thought it’d be one of those cliches where Ethan was that weird obsessed fan that always got on Jimmy’s nerve but they somehow end up having a relationship. I really didn’t expect the characters to have such a deep backstory. I expected it to have a lot of more romantic moments and scenes but I’m kinda glad it didn’t. Ethan’s character was very realistic, someone that struggled with depression and someone who was still struggling with the trauma of his past but wanting to change, become someone else someone who was seen as “normal” in the eyes of others. Someone who didn’t want to rely on others bc that made him feel pathetic and didn’t like when others tried butting in bc it felt like them just pitying him. He was very relatable and realistic. Overall I enjoyed the story a lot and how it focused on Ethan as a person rather than Ethan being a fan of Jimmy and just obsessing over the idea of him. I cried multiple times while reading this, when Blue’s mom was saying how proud she was of Ethan and how she wanted him to be happy, when “C” said he wanted to die and when Grace told Jimmy how Ethan was like her little brother. Ethan has such great people around him and I’m so glad he did. Honestly it would’ve been fulfilling to see Ethan beat the dog shit out of Dom but I respect that he doesn’t want to be like his father and resort to violence, but damn it felt good both the times he shut him down using facts. (Professor also pissed me off, like he was abused and just bc he died you think that erases all the bullshit his dad did? And you knew and STILL see him as a good man???anyways). It was really interesting how all the characters, their past and their relationships tie into together especially with Ethan. Lastly I’m still confused on Jimmy, I feel like they could’ve added like 5 more chapters where they sit down and talk about Jimmy’s past even if it’s not in-depth as Ethans. Overall I loved the story
