I have read others spoilers in that same thread that said something about being similar to another manwa or the sort (sorry, I don't read them so I don't think I wrote it right, sorry if I misspelled)
And that they are both kind of brain dead (can't give you my personal opinion on abandoned empress since I have never read it, but the spoilers I got she seemed kinda brain dead to me) .
But on this one I can. Not worthy it.

the prince in the past life deserves to die alone but the prince in the new life doesn't. the circumstances have changed due to the difference in tia's actions. we can't judge him for crimes he hasn't committed in this life or for crimes that he had committed in another life. initially, i didn't like that the tia was ending up with the prince but as the story continued you start to see how different the prince is from his past life. Being manipulated doesn't excuse the prince's horrible horrible doings in his past life but he truly is different from his past incarnation.
i still want tia to end up carsein(red hair) but i dont mind the price coz he isn't shitty in this new life and tia herself sees that and acknowledges that her actions have brought changes.
now, nothing can justify the rape and torture that the prince of the past life has done coz they are inexcusable. but we can understand why he didn't like tia. he was manipulated by the people who were the closest to him (duke zhena) and becoz of how his father treated tia, he had something similar to an inferiority complex.

To such a well elaborated thought, I wish I could answer you on equal levels. But as I have said before, I only got spoilers and didn't read the novel itself, so I can't.
But I can say this, if inferiority complex causes torture, rape then murder. Holy cow.
Indeed you are right, you can't blame him of this life as of yet. But that, in the end, if just influences and inferiority complex caused him to do such things, it says a lot. Mostly that his nature is that of a horrible person.
If she does, indeed, end up with him, I'd say she is as dumb as one can be. Besides making no sense at all. I mean, she has all her memories from her past life, doesn't she? So she knows what she had felt. She is sad. She mourned the loss of her parents. She went through horrible things. And then you reincarnate and still fall in love with that very person, no matter how much he changed? It doesn't make any sense. What, forgiveness? What he did isn't a simple matter of forgiveness. In my opinion, if she is not one for revenge, it should be to put him aside and live her own life away from both of them (the villain and him)
I just don't like it when it makes no sense whatsoever psychologically speaking.

well, i really wanted her to just leave the prince and villainess too. i agree that it makes no sense that she would want to involve herself with the prince again. even if the prince has changed, tia still did suffer and nothing can be done to erase her pain and suffering. after reading ur reply, i feel like im just making reasons coz i have spent too much time reading this manhwa and i dont want it to go to waste( ̄∇ ̄").
and now that i think about it does feel a bit silly for her to fall for the prince.
i didn't intend to imply that the inferiority complex itself caused the torture, rape and murder. the inferiority complex caused him to dislike or more accurately hate tia. that fact combined with the misunderstandings that tia was trying to take jieun' place as the empress( jieun is the villainess with whom the prince was in love with in his previous life)
and the supposed assassination that planned by tia's father and tia that led to the torture. i should have mentioned this in my previous reply as u have already mentioned that u haven't actually read it and only read the spoilers. thats on me.

Only making reasons? I can totally understand that. That chinese novel....the yaoi chinese novel where the guy goes into the novel world after the author completely changed the story per his request.
He let the guy torture him day after day out of guilt? Seriously? But I just found a reason for it because I wanted to keep on reading and not let it go to waste.
Totally get it
Ah, the reader and protagonist are definitely in love
I think that's the name.
Xiu does get totally in love with the protago after the torture scene is done tho.
I see. Hatred is indeed a scary thing.
But, I mean, you need to be just seriously brain dead to fall in love with them.
Like, have you ever heard of the concept of "thinking"? Is what I usually think when the girl is like that
Nah, it's fine. It is actually nice to talk about stuff like this, me being right or wrong doesn't matter. Maybe because of my way of speech (sometimes rather serious, but it's just the way I write) people misunderstand me and think I am attacking them. So it was rather pleasant when I read your first comment ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

There is the manhwa "Doctor Elise" where the FL was a bitch & did a lot of bad things but at the door of death she repent herself & became a better person in her next life..
It's a little the same for the ML in "The abandoned Empress" but this time + of being an asshole he was drugged & manipulated..
I just think that it's because he's a man & that the FL still have memories of her past life, because I saw other situations when people cursed the ML for being a playboy & play with womans heart when they said "periodt queen" when a FL played with boys before throwing them away.
I just think that y'all don't see a man & woman action a la the same level of gravity
To those who are saying the prince is a sort of a poor little lamb
Here's a spoiler (copy and paste) and exactly why I am dropping this:
Same. I was rooting for the green-haired yandere or the red-haired knight so much. The prince (spoiler alert) lied and killed her whole family, raped her, killed her, crushed her out of pure sadism and now that they're in their next life, they say that the prince is a poor little lamb who grew jealous of the FL because she was more perfect than him, so he is excused. No no no. He deserves to die alone.
Murder, rape, torture then kill her? Because of a traumatic past? That's no excuse. He is a scum of human being who doesn't deserve to be alive. Hell, I feel sorry for the plebeians who need to live under such a (future) king! And "He will change. It's a new life"
Sunny, if this was cheating we were talking about, I'd agree with you. But murder, rape and then torture? He is the worst type that is. And seems to be the male protagonist.
No way in hell I am going to keep on reading this. For the sake of my mind.
