I think the baker girl is alright. Although she was pretty pushy getting Paul to dance with her, the banquet is a one time thing a year. Also we do not know how long Paul has been clueless about her feelings, so it may have been for a while and she finally gave up going for an agressive approach which i don't find bad. According to the baker girl, Paul will just be there mainly eating food, so there really isn't anything wrong with him dancing with her. But if he did need to be there and protect the empress, he could've told her because that takes priority. (Though with the emperor there i doubt she would get harmed, because he drove away paul multiple times and said that she wouldn't get harmed because he was by her side.) The only faulty thing i think was her not asking him what were these "things" he needed to do, to make sure they weren't that important.
I like her. I mean, obviously if this were real life I’d tell Paul to run for the hills, but it’s not. She’s funny and seems nice despite he pushiness. I like that there is a woman who looks at him with something other than fear.
