The story:
So it is about a highschool student, named Ayu, she sells her body for money. She also meets this Gigolo/male escort call Keigi or something. Anyways, there is this very energetic girl who really wants to be friends with Ayu. One thing leads to another and then they both sell their bodies for money, Later, the girl gets spotted exiting a love hotel with a much older man, so people at the school call her a slut and some guys raped her, making her pregnant - in the end she keeps the baby.
Meanwhile, Ayu meets a granny, they talk about something about plants and there is a dog. They become friends and the granny says how she was married for one day, then her husband went off to war and died, she never got remarried as he was the only one she loved.
Keigi is in debt due to stealing money of a gang i think, buying drugs. So Ayu steals money from the granny. Keigi promised to pay her back but spends money on drugs and kills himself. Ayu starts working part-time jobs and sells her body even more so that she can pay the granny back again. The granny dies later, then a boy about Ayu's age (Yoshioki or something) who used to be the adopted son of the granny until his biological parents wanted him back meets Ayu.
So the boy has some sort of disease, the granny was saving up so that he could pay for a sugery. Ayu and the guy becomes friends, and he really wants to see the sea. The parents are against it so Ayu takes him. After that, they both in trouble and now the boy cannot leave the house.
Ayu cuts down on her eating so she can save as much money for the guy. The father doesn't like this for some reason and says he will only give the money if Ayu has sex with him or something. In the end, Ayu dies of AIDS or lack of eating. The father commits suicide due to guilt. The guy survives but says there is no point in living if Ayu isnt there. He briefly sees the energetic girl and her daughter, also names Ayu, at her grave.
