Ugh this is why I wish that more girls would be independent instead of depending on a guy.
Thing is, I think that 'girls depending on guy's isn't the issue here. They could have separated earlier and the wife also works. The thing is, the stigma and the reputation of the family as a whole could be really badly affected. Especially since Japan is an Asian country and this is valued a lot.
