    It’s not even just the fact of the affair really, it’s the fact that he lied to everyone in the company.

    Adultury is a crime in Japan. If you are married, you can be punished under law for cheating. It's usually a fine though.

    Yh but it's completely different when you lie to get a job transfer, Promotion or whatever in many countries. Especially when you getting a decent recommendation for the job.

    I imagine that saying, "Look, I screwed my coworker, who then went after my wife and family like a crazy woman with a criminal scheme, so getting away from this for my family's sake is essential," is embarassing.

    But they should have just told the truth and pressed charges against Rina the Bitch.
