I think that when the uke died, the emperor might have gone insane of pain and vowed to do things right and not fuck things up again.
I wished that in this life they learn how to forgive and let go of the hurt, and then they reencarnate again but in the modern world and fall in love.They would’ve lived 3 life’s:
1st life - they build up lots of anger, hate, hurt and resentment
2nd life - they learned to forgive and let go, learn how to properly act toward each other but didn’t get to experience full love
3rd life - they learn how to properly and healthy love each other and Are finally Truly happy, the memories of the past come like deja vus when they meet, first fights, jealousy or stuffs like that, but this time they are in a good relationship so they don’t commit the same mistake, but, this is also their last reincarnation, and last chance to be happy together
