Honestly the authors depiction was intentionally fetishistic depiction designed to have the rape be titillating to the more perverted readers. You can depict rape as graphic and violent without doing what she did and using the angles she did. Just take an episode from some crime drama—they are not fetishized and depict it as graphic and traumatizing and it can still make you feel sick. This mangas scene very much reads as gratifying to the people who like that shit or was extremely misguided on the authors part. There is a reason that would be censored in most other countries but isn’t in Japan. The US would not allow shota hentai to be sold legally because it’s considered child porn but Japan has tons of it. Reading from a western lens it’s easy to think that the author is just trying to make it traumatizing for the reader to show how bad it is but you only see it that way because you aren’t a pervert/pedophile and because of the culture where you live. There are plenty of people that will be into it in Japan especially. Fujoshi means rotten woman for a reason...they’re the main customer for tons of extreme stuff and a culture that is just different on this English dominated site. Japanese fujoshi and otaku are actually very apologetic and sympathetic to some things that would not pass western standards. They fetishize gay people and children and it’s a lot more objectifying than we realize. Once I was able to read queer comic written by actual queer people I realize just how fetishized and misguided a lot of the shit I read was. There are some manga actually written by lgbt Japanese authors and they feel completely different and are very rare. Just....keep in mind this manga is written by a cis straight person and isn’t not problematic though it is very entertaining with lovely art and interesting characters and an intriguing message about how we think of the word hero and what a hero is and means.

Reading chapter four had me sweating like made eventho I am infront of the fan.
