Actually, mangaka's usually compile the main story and a series of oneshots into the book to make the book larger. The oneshots usually have their own books.
oh I see, I thought they just wanna add one shots onto a full story and wondered instead of making another story in a series why not just extend the main story? so that's why
i'm pretty sure somewhere in the manga, the mangaka mentioned that it was originally supposed to be a series of oneshots but the publisher allowed her to extend the first story so it was compiled like this.

I only read the first story and I'm just wondering why do bl manga authors always make multiple stories in one series? I can understand if it's all one shot but I've seen some mangas with full stories and then they'll add one chapter about a different story unrelated to the whole series and for what? I just don't understand
