I think it was because the emperor that killed her husband. She's angry with the emperor but she can't touch him so she'll touch the emperor's woman instead.

oh yeah there was that part where the knight thought he was gonna die but the emperor did the opposite and granted his request
Okay so she was supposed to be the villainess but she loves our MC (like all come to be) but like isnt she married to the night who helps the Emperor with love advice so how was she supposed to be the villain inthe original novel?
