I would say California is the exception rather than the rule. Most of the US isn't like that, unfortunately
Yeah, I can see that... I've been watching some true crime that happened thru YouTube... There are parents who literally killed their own kid and only got 25 year sentence?! U.S. state laws differ from each other that it is ridiculous... at least Korea have death penalty, a life for a life...
You know what a big shock for me when I went to visit my cousin who was in Vietnam at the time? He got hit by a teacher. That was such a culture shock for me. I'm from Washington state. You would get a possibilty a life sentence if ya hit or touch a kid
When i was in kindergarten. My teacher will hit the hands of kids who cannot answer her Questions and put a star on the ones who answered correctly. I would never forget when she slapped that bamboo stick on my palms. I can still vividly remembered her cold face and the sharp pain on my hands. I never said anything, because i am scared that i will hear my mom say, it happened coz I was stupid
I feel like the author might been had first hand experienced the abuse of adults in her country. When I moved to California, I am surprised that kids here can literally get their parents sent to jail with a single bruise . In my birth country, i will walk with bruises from head to toe and my teachers won't even bat an eye
