I think you forgot to mention one of the biggest reasons mafuyu is sturggling: Guilt that yuki left on his shoulders. and how u gunna forget how to spell UENOYAMAS name?? its not that hard to look back at the manga, his name is mentioned everytime mafuyu calls out to him smh, and also you can't control your feelings he's now in love with uenoyama after one year yuki died, that says alot about uenoyamas presence and imapct for mafuyu starting this new bright chapter of his life

It’s hard to get over someone who died and even after falling in love with eunoyama he’s still gonna struggle and it’s not something that’s gonna be easy to get over.

For me, it’s not because he can’t move on but he afraid he gonna repeat the same mistake and the same thing gonna happens with ueno. He always feels lonely and sometimes being left out. That’s why when he saw ueno with his friends. He kinda feeling jealous and left out. It the same thing with yuki. But this times. He have someone to talk to. Bcs before this he have to keep the problem and his feeling to himself that end up eating him.
That’s why if you read the song subs he always said about loneliness. He actually feels so lonely but he never spoke about his feeling. He never spoke about his loneliness. For me, he already in the phase of moving on and he just need ueno to give him the attention he want and not left him out.

I think the part of jealousy is when ueno mentions higari and his expression changing. But i hope this time he change bcs he have aki to talk to.
I don’t understand why some of y’all are hating on mafuyu, the first chapter showcases the fact he saw his ex boyfriend dead body. It’s not easy to move on and forgetting about what happened and the results of that incident. He can’t let go of Yuki and he’ll never be able to. He’ll never forget about his existence and how he had impact on his life and personality, that shows the “love” they’ve built together since childhood. Everything that reminds him of yuki is beautiful and painful, their love is good and bad. He’ll eventually stop seeing yuki and will be happy with his current boyfriend one day, but for now he’s struggling and scared of moving on without yuki and how that’s diminishes his whole entire point of dying. Mafuyu has his flaws and should have waited a little longer to get with his boyfriend ( I forgot how to spell his name ). He isn’t capable of letting go of the past and moving towards the future, the burden and weight that he has at a young stage in life. That’s brutal. A sin he going to carry for the rest of his life.
